DREPANIDAE [65]

INSECTS

LEPIDOPTERA / DREPANIDAE [65]

Family Drepanidae has two sub-families - the Drepaninae and the Thyatirinae. The Drepaninae have broad wings and slender bodies and out of the seven species found in Britain, six have prominent hooked tips on the forewings. There are nine resident Thyatirinae and they somewhat resemble noctuid moths, but they are slimmer and hold their wings close to the body.
