Purple Loosestrife Lythrum salicaria

Purple Loosestrife Lythrum salicaria has a preference for wet habitats and is often found beside ponds. It has grows up to 1.5 metres tall and develops spikes of magenta flowers that bloom from June until August. The long green leaves appear in opposite pairs up the stem.
