Bat-winged phasia
Phasia hemiptera
This species shows significant sexual dimorphism; the female has distinct orange hair patches on the sides of the thorax, and the abdomen features some muted orange markings. Males display more vibrant colours with wings that have curved patterns. This species is commonly seen from May to early August, frequently on wild carrot in meadows. The female deposits her eggs on shieldbugs, and the larvae subsequently develop within the living host.
