Summer of 2026

Joan's Glade

The year has been provisionally identified by the Met Office as having the warmest summer in the UK’s history. The UK underwent five distinct heatwave events during the summer months, with the highest temperature recorded at 38.1°C at Kew Gardens on August 13th. Official drought conditions were declared for two-thirds of England and Thames water enforced a hosepipe ban.
