Solar Eclipse

Britain's first major solar eclipse since 1999 occurred on August 12th, 2026, at approximately 7:15 PM. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon aligns directly between the Earth and the Sun, resulting in the Moon casting a shadow on the Earth. In the centre of that shadow, the sky becomes significantly darker, resembling evening twilight. In Hainault Forest, over 90% of the Sun was blocked from view. Mike used a red filter on his camera lens.
