Bittersweet Nightshade

Solanum dulcamara

This plant is often found on the hedgerows surrounding Hainault Lake. Its purple flowers, which have yellow stamens, bloom from May to September and are followed by clusters of bright red berries. These berries are poisonous and should not be consumed.
