Knapweed Rhopalid
Stictopleurus abutilon
This species, measuring 7-8 mm in length, was believed to be extinct in Britain until it was rediscovered in 1992 near the Thames Gateway. The Rhopalid family is commonly referred to as scentless plant bugs due to the absence of the well-developed, pungent scent glands characteristic of related families such as squash bugs.
