Bird's Nest Fungus
Cyathus stercoreus
When the fruiting bodies mature they become nest-shaped typically about 10 mm high and a little less than 10 mm wide at the top. The nests are filled with spore-bearing dark egg-like structures called peridioles. When raindrops fall into the open cups, they propel the peridioles outward to distribute spores.
