SuDS Plan courtesy of Thames Water

Thames Water began working on a 30 year protection scheme to prevent Sylvan Way being flooded by surface water. When the houses were built the existing pipe network could not cope. Plans were made to build a new pumping station in Hainault Forest, located on the east side of Sylvan Way. It would receive flows of surface water to run into drainage basins (SuDS). Although summer was the preferred time to begin the work, the start was postponed until autumn 2018 to minimise the impact on wildlife.
