Brown Hawker

Aeshna grandis

The Brown Hawker is a common dragonfly that can be spotted patrolling water or flying through woodland paths from June to September. It is easily identifiable by its chocolate-brown body. Not often seen at Hainault Lake, but appears to favour smaller ponds like Roes Well, or those located on Hainault Golf Course.
