Limnephilus lunatus
This species is characterised by a dark-edged pale 'half moon' on the rear margin of the wing, which contributes to its Latin name 'lunatus.' Measuring 10 to 15 mm in length, these caddisflies are typically found near lakes, ponds, streams, and wetlands from May to November. The larvae build cases using leaf fragments, sand, grit and other debris.
